Several new members have been added with the net result of 42 current members. We are trying to get better responses from the current members.

- Current Balance - $12,977.31
- 1st Annual Golf Tournament – Financial Status (to be covered in Old Business)
- Old Business:
- 1st Annual Golf Tournament - Review:
- The board feels the tournament was successful in that we made money in our first attempt. We grossed $3,923.
- Kudos passed to COL John Alley for his work on this event.
- The number of volunteers was okay, but could be improved next year.
- Starting the event earlier in the year may make it more successful yet.
- John reported that we had help from 5 ROTC cadets with the Scabbard and Blade Society at ASU (who cosponsored the event). We had 35 golfers enter the tournament, all of whom paid full fees.
- We had good prizes and hole sponsors.
- Went over “lessons learned,” and would welcome any other input.
- Memorial Day Program – Final Details:
- Mall set-up. “Walk through” scheduled for Thursday or Friday.
- Program agenda discussed. It was noted that ASU would have a ceremony at 0730 on 27 May since they have a holiday on 30 May.
- MG Skip McCartney will be our featured speaker. The Avery JROTC Cadets will serve as the color guard.
- Publicity handled well by a number of board members.
- New Business:
- Relay for Life: Dinah reported that the HCCMOAA will again have a team. In past years we have carried the colors and service flags to lead the survivors’ lap. We would like to provide this service again this year.
- General Meeting - July: George suggested that we hold the next General Membership Meeting at his house in Todd. We can do a pig pickin’ and also celebrate “Christmas in July” since we had a number of attempts fall through in December due to weather. The event will be a family affair and it would be nice to invite the Avery chapter to attend.
- HCCMOAA Shirts: Since we are out of the previously printed set of golf shirts we will print some and make them available to interested members. The price discussed was about $25 for the shirt and $30 for both a shirt and cap.
- Other Business/Committee Reports:
- The VFW is sponsoring their 7th annual “Poker Run” on 6 August. It was moved and seconded to provide a $100 sponsorship of this event. The motion carried unanimously. The $100 covers a rider plus a “hand.”
- Adjournment: There being no further business, the board of directors meeting of the High Country Military Officers Association, Inc. was adjourned at 1255 to meet again at the call of the President.
